We have been on "vacation" a lot since my last post, even though the weather feels like fall. After our weekend at my sister's cabin over the 4th we left the following weekend for our annual summer vacation. We were gone saturday to late friday night. It was so great to get away and spend time with all of my family, however the weather was horrible. The first few days were fair but then it just got worse after that. I think a few of the days it barely got to 60 degrees! That is just crazy for July. We had a year like this about 5 years ago so I guess we were about due again. The past 3 years we have had the week of 90 degrees and sunny every day so I guess we can't complain. The resort we stayed at did have an indoor pool so the kids still had a blast. We spend the week playing cards, eating/drinking, swimming, playing bean bags, going for walks, went to a movie, got a pedicure, had spa day for girl cousins, etc. All in all it was still a very nice vacation with the family.

Trying to get a family picture on vacation at the cabin

This past weekend we went to my friend Liz and Darin's cabin near Cross Lake, MN. Again the weather wasn't the best but we still had a GREAT time. Friday night we had a bonfire with smores and later on saturday and most of the day on sunday we were on the pontoon enjoying their beautiful lake.

Izzie thought she could just eat Eli's food. It was pretty funny!

We are looking forward to another cabin trip later this week as we head to another friend's cabin for a few days to spend time with 2 girlfriends and their kids. It is a lot of work to pack everyone up but it is nice to be able to do these things with the kids. We can save the house cleaning and laundry until September :-)
Another major milestone at our house - IZZIE is ONE!!!! I can't believe my baby is 1 already. She has taken a few steps but is not all out walking yet. She loves to walk behind toys and climb, climb, climb!! She is also starting to say a few words and really developing a cute personality! She loves her babies, just like Olivia does so you can often see them both playing babies together. Izzie mostly just hugs them and sucks on their heads while Olivia has the mothering all down. It is amazing how much they pick up from what we do. Since we have been practicing walking with Izzie, Olivia even tries that with her babies. Olivia has been doing a lot of her own talking these days too. She is coming up with a lot of questions and sentences on her own which has been funny. "What are we having?" (when watching me make dinner), "Who was that?" (when I answer the door), "Why Avery mean?" (as her sister is not being nice to her), and her recent most favorite word is WHY???
Izzie is 1. She loved her cake and put it all over her hair. The bottom pics are her 1 year pictures from JCPenny.

This weekend, after our cabin trip, we have Albany Heritage Days and then Greenwald's Barley days on sunday. It should be a fun filled weekend with lots of friends and family!
A recent trip to the splash park in st.cloud. Ethan helps so much!
