Kids can often surprise you with things they do and say and this weekend I was a witness to that. On Sunday, when I was at my sister's watching her kids and ours for a few hours, we spent most of the afternoon outside. It was their idea to spend play time outside shoveling all of the melting ice on the driveway. Really... you want to shovel the driveway?? They each had a shovel and even the little ones helped with the broom and swept away the smaller pieces. They were so proud of themselves and worked so diligently! After an hour and 1/2 they decided they were done only to go in the house for reading time - what good kids!!We had a great weekend at Michelle's! The boys were all gone fishing so we hung out at her house, attended her jewlery party and just visited with friends and family. The cousins got many hours of Wii in so they were happy too.
Izzie is getting closer to crawling! She finally likes her belly enough and isn't getting frustrated after a few mins. Tonight she pushed herself backward about 5 feet. She almost gets in the all 4's postion by herself now too, so it will be no time before we have another mobile body in the house.
We have been enjoying the nice weather and playing in all the water in our cul-da-sac. I think I changed Olivia 4 times yesterday. She just loves to play in the water at the end of the driveway and that is what being a kid is all about right? At one point Olivia had capris and crocs on and she was still walking in the water, it didn't seem to bother her that her legs were turning purple because they were so cold! One of my favorite pictures of Ethan and Avery is when they were 3 and 1 and in their underwear and diaper playing in the same water that sits at the end of the driveway. That picture is just priceless!! Who needs toys when you can have filthy water to splash in!
We have a few low key weekends coming up and we are looking forward to catching up on some housework and just spending some QT home with the kids.
Here is a cute picture of Izzie from this weekend when she turned 8 months old!! I can't believe she is getting so big so fast!
