An update - but not much new

It has been a few weeks since my last post, but we really haven't been up to anything terribly exciting.

We had a valentine's dinner with close friends a few weeks back. I had a nice dinner out with some girlfriends a few weekends ago and most recently I went on my annual scrapbook weekend. It was a huge success; 50 pages completed and I am caught up in the kid's books to Oct. 08 - yeah!!

The kids are all doing well, although we did have a little bout of ear infections last week. We thought Izzie had a bad one and we were just going to get Olivia checked. Well, it turns out, Olivia had an infection in both ears and Izzie was just starting to get one, so they were both on antibiotics but seem to be back to normal now. Izzie is teething now too, so I am sure that had something to do with it. Olivia has been showing a little jealousy lately. Izzie is getting to the age where she wants more attention and wants to be played with more and held, and Olivia is picking up on that. She often says "I hold" and comes to us with her arms up when she sees Mike or I holding Izzie. It is so cute and sad too, I hope she doesn't feel left out. I often carry both of them because they are really both babies yet :-) Olivia loves her little sister and she can sure make her belly laugh! I hope they are always such good friends. Olivia continues to talk a lot (I want milk, I need more, I don't want to, I'm all done - a lot of 3 and 4 word sentences now), help us when she can and of course throw in a few tantrums :-) The joy of an almost 2 year old - oh how I have forgotten!

Ethan and Avery are doing well too. They have just been plugging away with school and hanging out at home. Ethan has been up at the hockey rink as much as he can! I think we have decided for sure that we are going to let him try hockey next year. I know that it is time consuming and costs $ but so does everything, so if he really likes it I hate to not let him at least try it and see how it goes.

This weekend Mike is going on a fishing trip with my dad and all the brother-in-laws, so the girls are going to hang out too - a little shopping, a jewlery party and maybe take in some of Mackenzie's volleyball games. All the cousins have such a great time playing together.

Oh - I signed up to run the Earth Day 1/2 marathon! As part of my lenten promise to myself, I have decided to try and eat better as well as train for the 1/2 marathon. So far it is going pretty well, although I would like to get outside more and run. I ran 7 miles last night and it went better than I thought. The only hard thing is finding the time to do the long runs. Wish me luck!

Olivia loves her crocs - she has to wear them all the time!
