We have been keeping busy with all sorts of stuff...
Mike was gone for work last week and boy was it a long week for me. It was the first time he has been gone that long since I have been at home full-time and we really missed him. The cold temps didn't help much either. He did have Monday off though so it was nice to have an extra long weekend with him.
Izzie is now 6 months old! She is such a good baby! I really can't believe how content she is all the time. She sits very well now and loves to just play with her toys. She is eating cereal and has had green beans and carrots now too. She seems to like it all so far. I have been pureeing some of our canned garden vegtables for her. She laughs a lot at her siblings and tries to grab EVERYTHING that is in front of her. Olivia has learned that as she has got a hold of her hair and clothes, etc. I think she will keep her distance a little more now :-)
Olivia is still our little character - every day we end up laughing at her for something. One of her newest things is to say "Come on" and then she grabs your hand and brings you to where she wants you to be. She LOVES to pretend to talk on the phone and play with babies and read books. She can repeat just about anything now or at least tries to repeat it so the words keep coming in. We have put her on the potty chair a few times already as she tells us before she goes #2 but so far no luck. I don't want to push it too much because she is so young yet, but it is nice to know that she knows when she has to go. Her favorite word to use is still "No" but it seems to be tapering off a little so that is nice. She has learned that there is a corner in the house that she fits in nicely. But all I have to say is "Olivia, do you want to go in the corner?" and she stops what she is doing. So far we have only had to use it a few times :-) I know she is young - but they know what they are doing! Other funny things she says "Ok" (she says it "kay kay"), I don't know, Spongebob (thanks to her older siblings), nuk (she now askes for it when she is tired, sad, or we are going into the car - I think we missed the window on taking it away before she knew better), "good girl" (she said this to izzie one day when we were getting her out of her crib). She has started to cross her arms when she is telling a story and often times she will go over to a wall and put one hand on it (leaning) and then cross one leg over the other as she tells one of her stories - it is too funny! One of our favorite things about her is that she still loves to cuddle with us and her siblings! Often times we are all cuddled on the couch together - it is a tight fit but we love it!
I don't mean to leave Ethan and Avery out but they haven't changed much since my last posting. Avery did get her stitches out and her cut is healing pretty well, I think there will still be a scar though. Ethan started basketball a few weekends back and that is going well. They have still been crazy about Star Wars, so we have been watching lots of Star Wars movies in our house as well as acting out scenes at home. We even got them both a light saber so they could pretend fight with each other. Avery says the other day "Mom, if we could find a little Yoda I would sleep with him every night - he is so cute" She just loves him!
We are all doing well and staying warm - hope you have a wonderful week. Here are some recent pictures.
