School was closed, daycare was closed and Mike was gone for the weekend, who needs more excuses to go out to eat, go shopping and go to a waterpark? So that is exactly what the kids and I did.
Friday we met my sister, Michelle, at Albertiville for lunch and then shopped at a few of the outlet stores. We met Bob and Paige at about 3:30 to go to the Grand Rios Waterpark in Brooklyn Park. The kids had a marvelous time!! Normally both Ethan and Avery are a little timid with the water and the slides, etc. but this time they were very adventurous! This helped me a lot as I was there alone with the kids, so I had to tend to Olivia most of the time. Bob helped a lot though and I am sure we got a lot of looks with ALL of the kids we had with us! Ethan and Paige loved the surf board in the pool that they could balance on and play "chicken"! Olivia enjoyed the water much more than I thought she would - she never even cried! Avery liked the small slides and of course the hot tub the best!!
Saturday we spent some time at the waterpark as well and then headed to Michelle and Allen's to play with more of the cousins and watch the NCAA games. We spent the night there. It was nice to have my Mom and Dad there as well to help with the kids a little. And it was so nice out that we went for a walk, played baseball and basketball.
On Sunday we finally made it home around 1:00 and it was rest time for Mom!! Well, I tried at least. Ethan and Avery slept a little on the way home and Olivia fell asleep when we were almost home too, so when we got home and I wanted them all to continue their naps. They had other ideas :-( Ethan and Avery rested nicely on the couch watching the Twins game but Olivia DID NOT want to nap more, so I got some "resting" in but no napping :-(
Other than the busy weekend Olivia has been entertaining us with her budding personality. She claps her hands well, does "SO BIG", waves and is always babbling and crawling around. She has also started to pull herself up and can stand by herself for a few seconds. She loves to stand up and hold on to the coffee table! She loves her Daddy!! When he is in the room, she won't even come my her Mom :-( it makes me a little sad but it is nice to see that she misses her Daddy too.
Well - we are stranded at home now thanks to this snow! I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!
Here are some pics of last weekend:
