The half marathon of the year was the Graniteman Half Marathon in St.Cloud. Carrie and I ran it together again. It was a SUPER hot and humid day so our expectations were very low. We wanted to just make it through and enjoy the run. The run started out ok but it got worse and worse as the temp was close to 90! Carrie's sister in law, Kim, was running the race as well and she did not fair so well. Around mile 11 Kim ended up having trouble with the heat and she ended up not finishing the race. Carrie and I stayed with her for a while and then finished the race about a half hour later. It felt good to finish, but I will NEVER run in that type of heat again. This finishers medal was definitely earned!
