Hello All - Sorry for not updating lately but besides all the Easter festivities this past weekend we really haven't been up to much.
We had a wonderful Easter weekend! Friday night we hosted the annual Bueckers' Fish Fry. This is always a great time for the adults and the kids. We ate, chatted, had a few cocktails and the kids played both outside and in. Saturday we celebrated Deb's baby shower and Easter at my parents house. The shower went very well and everyone had a nice time at Easter too. We did our annual easter egg hunt with all the kids so of course they were excited to find the eggs and start consuming candy! The weather was perfect all day so the kids spent most of the time outside. Sunday was Easter mass and then we spent most of the day at the Van Beck's. Again, the kids played outside and the adults chatted indoors. Overall, a very busy but fun weekend!
Other than the busy Easter weekend we have been trying to enjoy the weather whenever we can. The girls and I have been going for walks during the day and going to the park, etc. It has been so nice to take them out. Ethan and Mike have had their gloves and balls out just about every night playing catch and even playing a few games with the neighbor kids already.
Olivia continues to make us laugh and talks a lot now, so that is fun. One of her recent sayings was "I not Sassy". She is also really in to pointing out things that belong to other people. "Mommy's Hat, Daddy's shoes, Izzie's nuk, Ethan's pants, etc." One her other favorite things to say is "Izzie no need her nuk" She doesn't think Izzie should get her nuk if she is awake because she doesn't get hers unless she is napping or sleeping at night - it is pretty funny! She is starting to count and know colors, shapes, etc. It is amazing how much they pick up! Izzie is very close to crawling and even tries to pull herself up on things too. Soon she will be mobile - I am not sure I am ready for that. It is nice to know that if I leave her sitting by her toys playing for a few minutes and come back she will still be there when I get back - give or take a few feet from scooting. Ethan and Avery are loving being outside and playing with the neighbors and their cousins as much as they can!
I am still training for the Earth Day 1/2 marathon, which is this weekend. I will be very happy when it is over with. (I think Mike will be too) He has been such a trooper watching the kids when I have to go on my long runs so I thank him for that.
I hope you all had a very nice Easter and are enjoying spring as I think it is finally here to stay!
