Sickness and Celebration

Wow, a lot has been going on since my last post even though it was just last week. We have had the flu or some sort of stomach sickness going around the house. I had it early last week, then Olivia, Avery, Ethan and now Daddy! I sure hope Izabel doesn't get it, but I really don't see how she couldn't. For the little kids, it has lasted just a day but both Mike and I didn't feel well for a few days.

We also had our Bueckers' family October Birthday party. Connor, Paige, Avery, and Uncle Allen all have birthdays in October. We also celebrated Mackenzie's birthday since it was at her house. The kids had a great time dressing up in their costumes, playing games, opening presents, eating cake and just running around being kids. I sure hope we didn't infect too many people, but we had to go as we were celebrating Avery's birthday.

The kids have been doing well, other than being sick. Izabel belly laughs now and really likes to lay and play with her toys, coos, smiles, etc. Olivia has been doing a lot of funny things; patting herself on the back when she coughs, when you ask her how she is, she replies "good", she does the actions for twinkle, twinkle and even sings part of the song (well as good as a 17 month old can). She continues to love playing babies, putting on shoes and reading books. She has added quite a few words to her vocabulary too. Here are a few recent ones - papa, debba, grandma, emma, elmo, eat, sit, etc. She tries to repeat just about everything and seems to understand whatever we say, which is nice.

Avery and Ethan are doing well at school and love to go. Ethan has been getting better and better at reading. It really makes him seem so much older now that he can read. I just recently rearranged the basement and their bedroom so that more of the toys are downstairs and their school desks are in their room. They love to do their art and homework now upstairs in their desks.

Mike is getting ready for his next hunting trip and I am starting to plan what I am all going to do to keep busy when he is gone :-)
